iPhone Wallpaper Tutorial

The Apple iPhone has gained immense popularity and has followed in the footsteps of Apple's usual success stories of late. For all of you that have a new iPhone, I'll bet the first thing you want to do is to customize it. The easiest way to customize it of course if the background image, or the iPhone wallpaper. The iPhone is completely customizable and no doubt you will find more free iPhone wallpapers than you will know what to do with. Of all the funky techno toys you have, the wallpaper is first and foremost personal touch that must be changed to suite you and your new gadget.

This tutorial teaches you how to make your own iPhone wallpapers in a few easy steps. Once you master this tutorial, you can get very creative with your own designs!

Step 1 - Open a new file with following dimensions 320 x 480 pixels and make a new layer.

Step 2 - Make a new gradient #0f6bac to #57a9cf.

Step 3 - Use the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a selection, and using the Gradient Tool, fill it with White to Transparent.

Step 4 - Change the Blending Options to Soft Light.

Step 5 - Repeat steps 3 and 4

Step 6 -. Repeat step 5

Step 7 - Once again, repeat step 5, now change its Opacity to 30%.

Step 8 - Using the font Segoe, add some text.

Step 9 - Adding some minimal details - open the Layer Style’s window and go to Drop Shadow.

Step 10 - Go to Gradient Overlay, and apply a Gradient of #f6f6f6 to #ffffff.

Step 11 - Finally, reflect it. First, duplicate the layer and change the fill to 0%
- Right click over the layer and Rasterize it
- go to Edit/Transform/Flip Vertical and move it down.
- Make a selection with the Rectangle Marquee Tool and right click over it, use Feather and enter 20px.
- Delete it about 4 times and that’s it - your very own iPhone Wallpaper
